It is with regret that I have to let you know that I’ve taken the decision to close the Norwich Priory from now until further notice, in response to the coronavirus outbreak. This is to protect the health of our Sangha and to avoid contributing to the spread of the virus. I would have liked the Priory to have been able to remain open as a refuge during this very challenging time, but as it would be difficult to implement social distancing measures in the confines of the Priory, I think that would be irresponsible. So there will be no events happening here for the time being and the day retreat at Wymondham on 28th March will be cancelled.

We can look at ways of keeping in contact with each other indirectly. My initial thought is to try and have Skype meetings at the times when we would have been meeting at the Priory, so at 8pm on Tuesday, Wednesday (when we could continue studying the Diamond Sutra) and Thursday and at 11am on Sunday. Perhaps people could let me know if they would be interested in joining in these virtual meetings and, if so, what day would work for them. If anyone has any other suggestions as to how we might support each other spiritually during this difficult time, do let me know. On an individual level, I shall be very much available for people to contact me via phone or Skype or email, to have a chat.

I’d like to thank everyone who has offered to be part of the network to help support Sangha members in practical ways if they are self-isolating.

I shall, of course, keep this rapidly evolving situation under review to see what is best for our Sangha. Please take very good care of yourselves. I hope that you and your family and friends stay well.

With best wishes and in gassho,

Reverend Leoma
