A Dharma talk given by Rev. Leoma in May 2026 at Wesak, the Festival of the Buddha’s Birth. It focusses on a passage from Shoji (Life and Death), a chapter of Great Master Dogen’s Shobogenzo: “Should it be possible for us to understand that life & death are, of themselves, nothing more than Nirvana, there is obviously no need to either try to escape from life & death or to search for Nirvana and, for the first time, freedom from life & death becomes possible.”
